This post is about the 5 Game-Changing Sleep Hacks That Parents Love.
I can relate to parents who have been experiencing sleep deprivation. It is one of the worst feelings in life, and it is one of the main reasons why new moms get depression quickly. When parents have a busy working day ahead of them, sleep deprivation can trigger stress and frustration.
I have tried many things to improve my sleep quality. Below are the 5 Game-Changing Parent Sleep Hacks for the Best Rest of Your Life.
1. Get Digital Detox 2 hours before your sleep.
I used to spend the last minute before falling asleep scrolling my cell phone. The blue light of digital devices inhibits melatonin, which often gives me endless, tiring dreams, and I always wake up very tired. Instead of scrolling through digital devices, a paper book is a good choice, or writing a journal will make your mind more peaceful.
2. Get an excellent pillow.
Getting a wonderful pillow is the best investment. We spend one-third of our lifetime sleeping, and its quality decides the quality of the rest of our two-thirds of life. Getting an excellent pillow can last you a long time, and you will never regret it.
3. No Caffeine after 2 pm.
I could sleep easily when we were young, even after having two to three cups of coffee daily. With aging, even a cup of coffee or bubble tea can keep me completely awake the whole night. Now, I have quit drinking any drink containing caffeine altogether.
If you cannot survive during the day without a coffee, you can try to avoid it at least after 2 pm each day.
4. Try a quality sleep supplement.
I have been trying a new sleep supplement called “Cuddle.” Here is the link for Cuddle: Cuddle Sleep Health: A Sleep+ Formula I really feel the difference after taking it. I feel much more evident in my mind after waking up in the morning, and I no longer have any brain fog. For sleep supplements, I always prefer the ones without melatonin. I don’t want my body to form a dependency habit on melatonin.
5. Train your kid to have a good sleep routine even when they have sleep regression.
For many parents, the number one reason their children cannot sleep soundly is that they wake up too many times throughout the night. My daughter is two years and eight months old, and I’m not sure whether it’s related to sleep regression, but she still wakes up at night. I created a sleep routine checklist for her to follow each day. When the kids sleep well throughout the night, parents’ sleep quality improves a lot.
1) Ensure a lot of outdoor physical activity
2) Avoid Caffeine and sugar in the evening
3) Offer a warm bath
4) Brush teeth
5) Reading 1-2 children’s book
6) Keep the bedroom dark
